Living with Lightcliffe

We are delighted to be able to bring you the story of the motor barge "Lightcliffe". The barge has been purchased by Ronnie Thomas. We hope to bring you exclusive updates on "Lightcliffes" conversion to live aboard. Lightcliffe was moved from her East Yorkshire home to Suffolk in August 2008 along with two other barges namely the "Ferncliffe" and Westcliffe" both of which were destined for London berths.

Many thanks to Ronnie Thomas and Charlotte for allowing access to the conversion and also supplying the photographs and information.

Thanks also to George Robinson for supplying the photographs of the tug "ALA" and her history.

Over this winter it was found that parts of the superstructure not treated with foam insulation became damp with condensation, this view shows the new barrier fitted to prevent this.
